|I am struggling with arthritis in my hands and fingers trying to get back to playing guitar. Many of you have posted tips and suggestions in the past that have been helpful. The biggest problem obviously playing any size guitar is trying to form the chords and holding my fingers in positions that are pretty difficult for someone with severe arthritis. I' still struggling with many chords on my standard guitar, so recently I bought a mini Fender Squire as suggested by a friend. I am only playing basic chords. I am 70 + and weight around 200lbs, so my fingers are fat. This guitar, which is labeled as a kids guitar, seems it might be the answer. But, even though it is smaller to suit my needs compared to a standard size guitar, I seems my fingers might be touching the strings next to them because I get some fuzzy sounds on some chords. Has anyone my age and size tried playing one of these guitars? My basic question is can older adults play this size guitar? Is there a similar size guitar with a shorter neck that maybe has a wider neck?
I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
