|I feel like some pediatricians put too much emphasis on the growth curve. I have a friend who was asking my thoughts on it. Her doc is giving her grief because her child is small (3rd percentile, i believe) according to the cdc chart. Her doc also said he was taking into consideration southeast asain and asian babies, since they tend to be smaller and he's got a lot of them in his practice. I told her if he is meeting his milestones and is a good eater and there are no signs of nutritional deficiencies than he is doing good. She is not a very big woman, her husband is asian and 5'7", so not big either. I feel like the go to answer is "gain more weight and use pedia-sure" but I feel like thats just filling them up on junk.
What do you think?
I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
